JILL is venting to her best friend Morgan about change that has been happening in her life. JILL is so overwhelmed by growing up in a traveling military family and she does not want to adjust to one more new thing.

JILL: Morgan, no one understands. I am so sick of change! It’s so hard being the youngest in the family, but especially the youngest of a constantly moving military family. It’s so hard to see all your siblings go off to college, get married, and move away to different places every year. (Pause.) And, oh yeah, like switching high schools all the time really makes things better. (Beat.) Wait, don’t get me wrong, you’re the greatest friend I’ve ever had and I can talk to you about anything … it’s just, (Pause.) I don’t know … that’s just it, I don’t know! I don’t know if anything is real, authentic, right, wrong, a sure thing, or if it’s something worth starting or not, because, ya know what? Sooner or later everything changes again! I don’t know how many more new houses, new schools, new friends, new everything I can take! And now it looks like we’re moving again. Hey! Maybe I’ll just come and live in your closet! (Beat, then jokingly.) Hey, it could work! No one would have to know, right?
